This is an excerpt of a user review for the Sonicare Elite 7300 taken from ePinions.com:

My dental hygienist had been bugging me for years to get a Sonicare, but it took the threat of major periodontal work to induce me to plunk down the $70 for this toothbrush. (It was on sale, I had a 10% Target discount card, and I called Philips afterwards and got them to send me a $10 rebate, plus a rebate for a free brush head. More things to smile about!)

I chose this one over the Oral B for two reasons: The tiny brush head on the Sonic Elite will fit better in my mouth (my previous dentist had to use the pediatric drills on me). Plus, it was on sale.

After just one week, my teeth were whiter. After a month, they're noticeably whiter, despite my daily tea drinking habit. My gums are less sensitive, and we'll soon see what the hygienist has to say about those nasty perio pockets. If I can go back to twice-yearly cleanings instead of every 3 months (and insurance only pays for 2 cleanings a year), the Sonicare will have paid for itself. Oh yeah, the buzzy feeling went away after the first couple days of using the Sonicare. And I'm using less toothpaste (good because the dentist has me on a prescription paste that's $13 for a couple ounces.)

My 9-year-old son has started using the Sonicare, too. He has braces and wasn't doing a great job keeping his teeth clean with an electric (battery) brush. His breath was starting to smell pretty bad. Fortunately, after a week with the Sonicare, he smells better. Sharing the brush handle hasn't been a problem. We do need to charge the handle more often, but that's no big deal. The charger has a small footprint...only issue I have with it is that the cord is mighty short and won't reach the plug over my mirror.

Brush heads are more expensive than Oral B, but Amazon and my dentist sell them for $20/two-pack, $4 less than in stores.
