1. Review diagram

This will help your become familiar with all the components of your Sonicare toothbrush.

2. Charge handle

Plug the charger into an electrical outlet. Sonicare toothbrush handles have a light on the power button that indicates charging is taking place. Allow your Sonicare toothbrush handle to charge for a total of 21 hours during the first few days of use to make sure you've achieved a full charge. Once you've reached a full charge, your Sonicare toothbrush will deliver up to 2 weeks of typical use before recharging is necessary. The handle cannot be over charged. (Note: the batteries provided in your Sonicare toothbrush do not need to be drained.)

3. Attach brush head

With the bar on the brush head aligned with the notch on the handle, slide the brush head onto the handle. Screw the nut clockwise until it's firmly tightened. If the brush rattles when in use, tighten the nut further.

4. Using Easy Start

Easy Start helps you get used to power toothbrushing. Your Sonicare toothbrush comes preset from the factory with the Easy Start feature on. Easy Start gently increases brushing power as long as your Sonicare toothbrush is on for at least 1 minute each brushing. After the 12th brushing, you'll have reached your Sonicare toothbrush's optimal brushing power.

During the first 12 brushings, you'll hear 2 quick beeps immediately after you press the power button to signal you are getting reduced brushing power. After the first 12 brushings, you'll no longer hear the double beep and your Sonicare toothbrush will be at the optimal brushing power.

To turn off Easy Start:
1.Attach your brush head to the handle
2.Place the handle in the charger base and make sure your charger base is plugged in
3.Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. You'll hear a beep to let you know Easy Start is now off

To turn on Easy Start:
1. Attach your brush head to the handle
2. Place the handle in the charger base and make sure your charger base is plugged in
3. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. You'll hear 2 beeps to let you know the feature is now on. Once again it will proceed through 12 gentle steps until you are at optimal brushing power

Using the Easy Start feature beyond the initial ramp-up period is not recommended and reduces the ability of the Sonicare toothbrush to remove plaque.

5. Using Recharge Indicator

For models with the Recharge Indicator feature. (See "Which Model" to find out if your model has this feature.)
